The italian people usually have breakfast about 7 am. Their breakfast is only small and contains normally a croissant or cereals. They also have a small, but strong coffee to start the day. During their forenoon they have a coffee break which includes cookies and coffee.

The lunch takes place about 1.30 pm and is divided in different parts. Usually the Italians have a first dish, a second dish and a desert for lunch. In Italian it is called primo piatto, secundo piatto and dolce. The first dish is usually pasta, risotto or a soup. The second dish contains often meat or fish which comes with vegetables or potatoes. A popular alternative for the first and second dish is a pizza, which comes in many variations. For desert the Italians have a cake, ice-cream, fruits or a yogurt and usually have water, soda or wine with their meal. After their lunch some may have another coffee.

In the afternoon they have another coffee break with cookies or cake, before they start their supper in the evening which starts between 8 pm and 9 pm. The supper can be another warm meal like the ones from the lunch or they eat salami, ham and cheese. Along with it comes usually bread. The typical drinks are water, soda and wine.
